Minnetonka closed its regular season at 21-4-0 overall, thanks to a pair of blowout wins at Chaska/Chanhassen and Blake... the Skippers also began its Section 6AA tournament title defense - as the top seed - with a big win over North Metro... they'll play Buffalo Wednesday evening in the sectional semifinals and, if they win, one of Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper or Benilde-St. Margaret's for the 6AA title and ticket to St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center for the state tournament... for her part individually, Bowman simply keeps scoring... she was named a Minnesota Ms. Hockey award semifinalist two weeks ago and will hopefully make the cut when the finalists are announced Thursday.

Ehresmann finished the regular season with stellar numbers - an 11-1-0 record, a 0.91 goals against average, a 0.939 save percentage and six shutouts... however, it's unclear whether she'll remain in a 50-50 rotation with the more experienced Sydney Rossman (who is a finalist for the Minnesota Senior Goalie of the Year award) available for what are now do-or-die games - Rossman got consecutive starts in the Skippers' final regular season game and in their Section 6AA tournament opener.

Remi Martin

Defender
Colorado Tigers 19U/Foothills Flyers MM AA
5'6" // Littleton, CO
Class of 2014
DOB 7/15/1996

On February 2nd, the Tigers played a pair of games in the Women's Association of Colorado Hockey College/U19 division, tying the University of Colorado 1-1 and beating the Colorado Select U19AA 3-1... although Martin was held without a point in the first game, she scored twice against the Select, beginning and ending a 3:29 second-period burst that resulted in all three of the Tigers' goals... the Tigers beat Colorado State 2-1 on February 9th,.. Martin's team is 9-0-1 in WACH games, good for first place, and the playoffs will take place on February 23rd and 24th... prior to that, however, is the Tier II state playoffs this coming weekend.

Nielsen's Hornets began as the second seed in the Section 2AA tournament, and have posted back-to-back shutouts to reach the final against top-seeded Eden Prairie on Friday night with a trip to St. Paul on the line... in 25 regular season games for 13-7-5 Edina, Nielsen had 13 goals and 19 assists - the helper number was best on the team.

The Hornets began the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League Playoffs on the right note, by posting a win and a tie against, well, themselves (kind of - a second team sponsored by the organization)... the decisive game three of the first-round series is on Thursday... a series win would advance Paniccia to the LLFHL Central Division semifinals against either the Etobicoke Dolphins or the Burlington Barricudas, while a division title would move Oakville to the LLFHL's overall championship weekend March 22nd through 24th... for the regular season, the Hornets finished 10-4-8 in the LLFHL games.

Petersen closed the regular season with the scoring title for the Lake Conference champs (21 goals, 27 assists, 48 points), edging out linemate Bowman by two points... the duo exploded - even compared to their usual outputs - once sectionals started, notching five points each in the blowout of North Metro.

Kelly Seward

Defender
Nichols School/Buffalo Bisons 19U
5'9" // Williamsville, NY
Class of 2013
DOB 6/7/1995

Nichols lost a key game in CISAA play, 3-2 to Appleby College in CISAA play on February 11th, and is in second place by one point to Appleby at 8-2-1, but otherwise the team had a successful two weeks, going 7-3-0 in all competitions... included in that mark was yet another North American Prep Hockey Association tournament title, during which Nichols only allowed four total goals in wins over Gilmour, Wyoming, Ridley and Trinity on February 2nd and 3rd... Nichols also appeared at the Shattuck-St. Mary's Jamboree February 9th and 10th... notably, they defeated the hosts 6-5 in what was called an exhibition separate from the showcase on the 10th, roughly five hours after losing 7-1 to them... Nichols will play another NAPHA tournament this weekend, followed by the the CISAA playoffs, which open on the 22nd.

Lakeville North's Section 1AA tournament is slightly further along than the others of interest - Vetter and the Panthers, which finished the regular season 17-6-2 and as the South Suburban Conference co-champs, have already won two games from the top seed's perch and can punch their ticket to the X with a win over Dodge County on Thursday... Vetter's final regular season line was 18 goals and 22 assists in 24 games... she led the team in goals, shorthanded goals (tie), penalty minutes, plus-minus and game-winning goals (tie).
