The Pens participated in the USA-Canada Cup in Kitchener, ON over the weekend, but had a rough go of things, losing all five games by a combined 16-6 score...Holdcroft scored one of those six goals and added an assist, while Kern had an assist as well...the team is now 23-19-3 overall on the year...according to Steve Penstone, who broadcasted a State College Area High School (Holdcroft's other team) game Monday night, the local product "is a hockey player [with] good wheels and hockey smarts."

Gilmour Academy, now 13-8-6, played a pair of games against Wyoming Seminary Saturday and Sunday, winning both 5-0...the first of these was outdoors at Cleveland's Progressive Field, while the second took place at GA's usual home rink...all three PSU recruits played important roles in the victories, as this recap demonstrates.
On December 10 the Lancers played their first ever open air game as part of Snow Days at Progressive Field. Wyoming Seminary was the opponent and Gilmour was able to capitalize early by scoring 2 goals in the first period and went on to defeat Wyoming 5-0. Laurel Brown and Celine Whitlinger split the game to combine for the shut out as Katelyn Parker and Micayla Catanzariti each had two goals apiece and Carley Manges added a power play goal and Katie Zinn had 4 assists to lead the Lancers. On Sunday at home the Lancers again defeated Wyoming Seminary 5-0 and the line of Parker, Zinn, and Catanzariti combined for 6 points lead by Zinn with a goal and 2 assists, Parker a goal and 2 assists and Sarah Geisinger with two assists. Laurel Brown picked up her third shut out stopping 8 shots The Lancers will be in Ashburnham, MA December 15-17 at the Edward G Watkins Girls Invitational Hockey tournament.
