Jersey Day Photos

First off, there are a couple external galleries out there, from GoPSUSports and Onward State. Additionally, the women's team's Facebook page added several photos of players not at the ceremony wearing the new duds.

Here are a few TYT-exclusive photos - these are shown at less than full size, so click on any of them for the gallery and a slightly larger look.

These last four photos were sent out as part of the media release for the event, and are actually different than those in the GoPSUSports photo gallery. They're also less than full size, by the way, so feel free to click them.

  1. Any idea which media were represented? I'm hoping this program will get some press beyond The Collegian and TTY, but I'm not confident. One reason why the "outside world" believes that "Happy Valley" is dominated by football is because nothing else happening here gets much ink.

    1. Honestly, I'm not good for that kind of stuff because I'm not around the "mainstream" enough to really know anyone besides the Collegian hockey writers each year. I did recognize the PSU AP guy, and have seen a few pickups of his brief story (although I can't find one at the moment). WTAJ had a camera there and did a quick report (http://wearecentralpa.com/fulltext?nxd_id=398442). Greg Pickel was there (http://blog.pennlive.com/patriotnewssports/2012/09/penn_state_hockey_mens_womens.html), I recognize him too. Nothing like the groundbreaking ceremony (which to be fair, had TPegs and Dave Joyner right after the Mark Sherburne firing), but definitely more than will be at most games. The photos are a pretty accurate reflection of the throng, IMO.

  2. Pickel isn't their regular hockey guy, I don't think, so that might suggest the Patriot cares about this. Then again, he was probably in town for the football press conference anyway.
