Community Rink Ice Installed
While the floor of the main bowl at Pegula Ice Arena has not yet taken the familiar form of a hockey rink (at last check of the webcam, the still-gray and unmarked surface received another pass from the hose at around 8:00 Monday evening), there's actually a pretty good reason for that - ice-building work has been focused on the smaller community rink. As the name implies, the 300-seat auxiliary sheet will primarily host community events, youth hockey and Penn State's ACHA teams.
The following comes from rink employee Madeline Chandler, via Twitter and Instagram, at 6:04 p.m. Monday. She captioned it: "After a long day the ice is in at the community rink at the Peg."
Unreal. Keep up the amazing work, guys.
