Despite Berger's best efforts, the Blues had mixed results at the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League playoffs, exiting with a 2-2-0 record... Berger won the T1EHL scoring title during the regular season with 61 points in 36 games to help the team to a 29-6-4 record and a division title... Saint Louis University High has had a much more successful turn in the playoffs - after a 22-5-2 regular season, the Jr. Billikens advanced to the Mid-States Club Hockey Association semifinals (which begin Thursday) after defeating Kirkwood in two straight in the best-of-three first round.

The Riders continue to slip in the Eastern Conference playoff chase, as they now trail fourth-place Youngstown by five points - and the Phantoms have three games in hand... Cedar Rapids' season was perhaps epitomized by the February 10th game at Green Bay, in which they jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks in part to a Goodwin goal (an an Alec Marsh assist, as we'll see below), but allowed the Gamblers to storm back and win in a shootout.

In the final USHR.com New England prep poll of the season on Sunday, KUA returned to the top spot, with a 26-2-0 overall record... the Wildcats closed out their regular season with three straight wins and will look for titles at the Lakes Region Tournament and in the New England prep championships over the next couple weeks.

While Kerr's trip to the T1EHL playoffs (2/14-16) was a disappointment, he did clean up in a pair of AMHL games on the previous weekend to help Team Comcast remain on top of the district and league standings (assuming that Junior Titans game isn't an error - wow)... Kerr had a goal and an assist in Holy Ghost Prep's 4-2 win over Father Judge on February 11th, their only game of the two weeks... the Firebirds are 10-4-1 overall.

Two goals against in four games, all wins - not too horrible if you're one of the team's top defensive defensemen... for the season, the Jacks have allowed 126 goals in 48 games, a figure that trails only Dubuque (which is seven points ahead of everyone else in the league) in the USHL.

Marsh's yo-yo status when it comes to his playing time, on the upswing at the moment, has been one of the more interesting things to track this season... as mentioned, he had an assist to contribute to the eventually blown lead on February 10th... considering the minutes he likely gets when he does appear in games, six points in 25 games is hardly a black mark on his record.

The supremely talented Black Hawks have suddenly found themselves on the brink of the Western Conference playoff cutoff, just one point ahead of fifth-place Lincoln and tied with Omaha for third in what's beginning to look like a three-teams-for-two-spots battle... neither McAdam nor Cal Petersen were able to stop the bleeding in their starts, although Guy Gadowsky undoubtedly appreciates McAdam's dealing with 92 shots in two games, Grant Fuhr-style... on a more positive note, McAdam was the fifth-best goalie in International Scouting Service's February draft rankings.

The BCHL is already in its stretch run - the regular season ends March 10th - and Alberni Valley has clinched a playoff spot, with a 25-19-6 record, good for third in the Island Division... Pellah has continued his remarkably consistent production from the blueline in helping the Bulldogs qualify.

Richard's return to the lineup on February 8th - he had been out since January 4th with an upper-body injury - paid immediate dividends... the Saints' winless streak reached eight, then turned into a five-game winning streak... Richard's two goals on the 15th earned him star-of-the-game honors, and his goals against Lloydminster and Olds were a game-winning goal and a first goal.

Saar is undoubtedly enjoying life a little bit more since his January 30th trade to Muskegon from Des Moines - not only does he now play for a contender, but he's +1 in six games with the Lumberjacks after being -15 in 36 games with the Buccaneers.

For Scheid - and maybe the entire USHL - the easy highlight of the last two weeks was his playing in the Mutual of Omaha Battles on Ice doubleheader outdoors at Omaha's TD Ameritrade Park... the Stars dropped the game 4-2 to the host Lancers in front of an announced crowd of 13,650 prior to an NCAA game between North Dakota and Nebraska-Omaha... back in "normal" games, Lincoln was still in the middle of a tight playoff race, and Scheid helped things with his outburst in a shootout win over Tri-City.

While Pellah won the statistical battle in his head-to-head meeting with Thompson with an assist, the PA native decisively won the game... like Pellah's Bulldogs, the 30-18-2 Chiefs have also clinched a playoff spot and are presently second to Surrey in the Mainland Division.

Williamson, who (like teammate Richard) has had his share of injury issues this season, had been back in the lineup since January 29th and has contributed greatly to Spruce Grove's recent turnaround as well... the AJHL regular season ends even earlier than the BCHL's, on March 2nd, but the Saints are in good shape at 33-15-9 and first place in the North Division (although they haven't clinched just yet).
