Two Jordan Zalba power play goals, the first with 10 seconds left in the opening period, helped drive Neumann to a 6-3 win over Penn State at Citizens Bank Park Wednesday night in front of nearly 5,000 fans.
After Zalba's first goal gave the Knights a 2-0 lead at the first intermission, Taylor Holstrom's deflection of a Peter Sweetland shot got the Icers back within one early in the second period. However, Cory Park's finishing of a 2-on-0 situation off of a turnover less than four minutes later helped ensure that PSU wouldn't get that close again. The teams traded goals from that point on, finishing with an Andrew Love empty-netter. Holstrom's linemates, Tommy Olczyk and Justin Kirchhevel, also scored for Penn State.
