Berger putting up gaudy scoring numbers is hardly anything new - his four goals and 10 points over two weekends against the Jr. Admirals included two third-period winners, including one while shorthanded on the 19th... thanks to the outburst, Berger now leads the T1EHL midget majors with 29 goals and 51 points... Saint Louis University High School went 3-0-0 during this Commit Cycle period, including a 5-1 Jesuit Cup win over DeSmet... the Billikens are 18-4-2 with a pair of regular-season contests remaining.

Goodwin continues to make the best of things on a 15-18-4 RoughRiders team that looked to be heating up a couple weeks ago, but has now dropped four straight (although to very good teams it should be noted, including first place Dubuque and Sioux Falls)... he rates second on the team in scoring, including 12 points in 19 games since his trade from Sioux City.

KUA, at 18-1-0, is dominating all comers this season with an eye on the New England prep championship... they're in good shape as the current top team in the USHR.com prep poll, and Greer has played a large role in things, as he's the fourth leading scorer on the team.

Kerr broke out of what could have been considered a mild scoring slump in Tier 1 games in a huge way against the Boston Advantage and in a T1EHL showcase in Youngstown, OH... Team Comcast continues to rate second in the MYHockey Rankings computer assessment of Tier 1 midget 18U teams, behind Victory Honda... Holy Ghost Prep went 2-1-0 during this Commit Cycle period, with Kerr logging two goals and two assists in the wins but missing a 2-1 loss to North Penn.

Koudys, a highly defensive defenseman, chipped in two assists - including on Cam Darcy's second-period power play winner - in an important win over Indiana as the Jacks attempt to remain in the top half of the Eastern Conference standings.

Although his team is sliding in the standings, Marsh has slowly worked his way into being an every-game player - he's dressed for eight consecutive... on a team with only one plus player who has been with Cedar Rapids for the entire season, his -1 rating also stands out.

The McAdam-Cal Petersen goalie duel flipped back in the Penn Stater's favor despite occasionally mixed results over the last two weeks... while Peterson eventually got a start on January 18th and played well, McAdam came back the next day with a stellar outing that included stonewalling all three Dubuque attempts in a shootout win... said McAdam of shootouts: "It’s all about patience - outwaiting the other guy and almost getting a sense of what he’s doing before he knows and not biting on the first move he makes"... Waterloo coach P. K. O'Handley was impressed with McAdam throughout that game: "He was outstanding - the difference in the game, for sure. Without watching video, we played a good first (period), a good second and I’m not sure we could have played worse in the third. He stood tall. He was the difference in the third period."

An extremely light schedule has seen Alberni Valley play just six games since December 15th... Pellah, for his part, notched a power play goal in one of the Bulldogs' two wins during that stretch... it was the sixth goal of the puck mover's two-year BCHL career.

After a fast start to the season, the Buccaneers have come back to earth recently... however, Saar played a vital role in Des Moines' one win in the last two weeks by burying the shootout winner against the NTDP, in addition to his regulation assist... he did not fare as well one week later, misfiring in a shootout loss to Youngstown.

Scheid has continued to be one of the USHL's top players this season - he's in the league's top 15 in goals, assists and points and continues to lead the circuit with a +31 rating... his recent exploits include an overtime winner on a rebound against Sioux City: "Luckily it went in for me," Scheid said of the goal. "It’s just skating to the net with a purpose and getting to the dirty areas. You watch the guys in the NHL, the Crosbys and stuff, they go the net and they score the dirty goals that aren’t always pretty. The key in this league is to go in the hard areas and score goals."

After a bit of a rough patch, Chilliwack bounced back into form over the last two weeks... captain Thompson headed a defensive effort that only allowed 1.8 goals per game over the period... the Chiefs are back on top of the BCHL's Mainland Division at 26-12-2.
