"I felt we made a mistake in building a baseball field. I thought that should have been the ice skating rink, because I think hockey in this state right now, not just hockey, but ice skating, if you come up to our office building at 6:00 in the morning, some mornings you can't get a parking spot because parents have taken their kids up here to skate...I think hockey will be a great addition to our intercollegiate program. [The Pegula gift] is a great, great gift. And I think very far-sighted and I'm really pleased with it." - Joe Paterno

Commit Cycle: December 6 (Men)

Casey Bailey

Forward
Omaha Lancers (USHL)
6'3", 195 pounds
Anchorage, AK
Class of 2012
DOB 10/22/1991

Date  Opponent                Score  G   A Pts PIM
--------------------------------------------------------------

12/2  at Lincoln              W 7-2  2   1   3   2 [box score]
12/3  at Waterloo             W 5-2  1   0   1   2 [box score]
12/6  vs. Tri-City            W 3-1  1   0   1   2 [box score]

Bailey continued as one of the USHL's elite snipers with a four-goal week...his 12 goals are tied for fifth in the league, tops on the Lancers...his goal against Tri-City was his third game winner this season.

Kenny Brooks

Forward
Tri-City Storm (USHL)
6'2", 195 pounds
Las Vegas, NV
Class of 2012
DOB 12/11/1991

12/6  at Omaha                L 1-3  0   0   0   0 [box score]

If Bailey's a sniper, then Brooks is a playmaker - his 12 helpers are tied for ninth in the USHL.

David Glen

Center
Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL)
6'0", 175 pounds
Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Class of 2012
DOB 2/14/1991

Date  Opponent                Score  G   A Pts PIM
--------------------------------------------------------------

11/29 at Bonnyville           W 4-3  0   1   1   0 [box score]

12/6  at Grand Prairie        L 0-1  0   0   0   0 [box score]

While Glen had single assists in three of four games, the one against Bonnyville was a particularly large one, coming on Austin Sevalrud's OT winner.

Luke Juha

Defenseman
Vernon Vipers (BCHL)
5'11", 180 pounds
Mississauga, ON
Class of 2012
DOB 3/9/1993

12/3  at Merritt              L 0-2  -   -   -   - [box score]

Juha is now on injured reserve with what's being described as a long-term injury...the Vipers are now on a nine-game winless skid.

Reed Linaker

Center
Brooks Bandits (AJHL)
5'9", 165 pounds

Class of 2012
DOB 11/4/1991

Date  Opponent                Score  G   A Pts PIM

11/29 at Drayton Valley       L 2-4  0   0   0   0 [box score]
..............................................................
12/3  vs. Fort McMurray       W 5-4  0   0   0   0 [box score]

St. Albert, bluntly speaking, is awful and not showing any sign of improvement from 6-26-2, the worst record in the AJHL...as a result, team management has essentially cut the cord on this season (although the team would argue that assertion, at least on the record) by trading many of their veteran players, which this week came to include Linaker...the Brooks Bandits, the first-place team in the AJHL's South Division are his new home, meaning he went from probably the worst team including a PSU recruit to one of the best...in return for Linaker, the Steel received 18-year-olds Brendan Santini and Taylor Graham, as well as future considerations...while he didn't record any statistics in his Brooks debut, he did get one thing that has been rare for him so far this season - a win.

Penticton is now a BCHL-best 24-3-2.

McAdam continues to get something close to 50 percent of the starts for Waterloo, although he was victimized by Bailey and high-flying Omaha last time out.
