O'Brien Named to ACHA All-Star Game

Graduating Icers senior Tim O'Brien has been named the sole Penn State representative to the ACHA Division 1 All-Star game, slated to take place Saturday at Adrian College's Arrington Ice Arena.

O'Brien, of course, will be playing in his third all-star game, having also participated in the 2009 and 2010 events. Penn State's history in the match includes hosting the first one in 2008, as well as sending players Nick Signet (2008), Keith Jordan (2008), John Conte (2010), Teddy Hume (2010) and coach Scott Balboni (2008).

Just because information about the game is tremendously scarce, here's the ACHA announcement of it from last month.
The 4th Annual American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 1 All-Star Game is set to take place at the Arrington Ice Arena, on the campus of Adrian College, in Adrian, MI on Saturday, March 19, 2011.

40 of the top Men's Division 1 players will converge on Michigan for this event.

The game is geared to highlight and attract the best ACHA Division 1 players and showcase their talents on the ice while representing their individual schools in competition. The first three all-star games were a tremendous success and have created a solid foundation to build a lasting tradition. The Adrian College community is thrilled to host such an event and is anxiously looking forward to putting on a great show.

"Adrian College is once again honored to host the All-Star game," said ACHA Men's Division 1 Head Coach Dan Phelps. "Last years event proved to be a win-win for us and all who participated. When we have the opportunity to step up and give so many great student-athletes the chance to participate in this event, we recognize this and are honored to provide our facilities as that venue. We look forward to hosting all who attend this year and providing them once again with a memorable experience here at Adrian College."

Game time is tentatively slated for 8:05 PM EST.
