But for the time being, father and son - who are obviously pretty familiar with how major junior, education packages, etc. work - don't see that option as being as appealing as you make it sound, and in fact have elected for something that's probably a bit less familiar. Just saying.

I'll leave it at that, since it seems you have a dog in the hunt, as do I. Both options work, clearly. I prefer one, you prefer the other. Queen's U has been coached in recent years by Kirk Muller (HC of Carolina) and former NHLer Alyn McCauley...and not pay a cent for his education there!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327069433246447816.post-58748452056660344322013-09-17T21:51:14.618-04:002013-09-17T21:51:14.618-04:00It really is. I don't believe the whole "you can't go back" is keeping the high-end players who choose to play college now around, because barring a catastrophic injury or something, they're future pros in either place and aren't really depending on a degree anyway (see: all the one- and two-and-dones at the top programs). Is there this massive category of players in NCAA who are only there because they were afraid to pull the trigger on burning their eligibility? That just doesn't make any sense.

CIS should probably be afraid if that ever happens, because former CHL guys who crapped out and realized they need an education are pretty important for them. If they could go back and play NCAA...Kyle Rossihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03988727251887693489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327069433246447816.post-56013936304761399632013-09-17T13:19:24.861-04:002013-09-17T13:19:24.861-04:00It's really asinine that players can't go ...It's really asinine that players can't go from major juniors to the NCAA because, of course, "amateurism." I don't see how that really benefits anyone except perhaps the USHL.Reednoreply@blogger.com
